We brewed this beer with our friends from American Solera and then aged it in bourbon barrels for 11 months. We then finished it in maple syrup bourbon barrels and vanilla bourbon barrels for an additional 4 months before adding more maple syrup, toasted pecans, vanilla beans and cacao nibs.

Poured a black body with minimal head. Nutty aroma with hint of maple. Maple syrup is pronounced in this quasi-meaty (maple, vanilla, minimal chocolate, booze and wood all working together), full, and sticky beer that finished with some heat and is a slow sipper.

750ml capped bottle into a Side Project snifter.
Pours pitch black. Slick, rich, and heavy. No lace, near no head. Mocha legs that really stick around. Nose is spot on. I get hints of maple syrup, salty pecans, sweet cream, fudge, and chocolate syrup. Super rich and aromatic. Beer opens chocolate and maple. Sweet but not overly so. Vanilla, sweet cream, and pecan flavors in the middle with more chocolate, cocoa powder, and fudge at the back end. Sweet, syrupy aftertaste. Body is medium to full with low carbonation. Slick and chewy on the palate and goes down heavy, slightly boozy, with a long, lingering, filmy aftertaste. This is a lot but for some reason, I don't get tired going back to it.
Really impressive overall. You don't often come across a beer with a name reminiscent of a dessert that actually carries through on its namesake. Angry Chair consistently does though.
