Our 8th Anniversary Grand Cru is a blend of imperial stout aged for 25 months in apple brandy barrels, imperial sweet stout aged in maple syrup barrels for 15 months, imperial sweet stout aged in Jamaican rum barrels for 25 months and imperial sweet stout aged in wheated bourbon barrels for 18 months.

Poured a black body with no head. Boozy and woody aroma, sort of like a port wine. Full bodied but smooth, not sticky, slow-sipping s heavy and boozy and has something like a vanilla and spicy sweetness and finishes with some heat.

Look - fantastic black thick nice slight tan head fantastic rimming and lacing
Smell - sweet apple brandy, rum, bourbon woody chocolate and booze
Taste - chocolate vanilla caramel apple brandy, bourbon barrel, a little cola
Feel - full body but could use slight more, lighter carb, slight syrup
Overall - pretty fantastic

I was very impressed with this; fantastic balance of barrel types used. Subtle apple, prevalent rum. Notes of caramel, vanilla, cocoa nibs, and subtle smoke on the tail. Samoa cookie vibes. Excellent complexity for no adjuncts. Fantastic.
