Poured a black body with no lace after almost non-visible head died real quick. The aroma had notes of booze, dark chocolate and maybe coconut or vanilla but was a little off. Not a bad beer that is sweet and slow sipping, has a chocolate taste that is filling but other notes like wood, vanilla and/or coconut seem to be minimal, at best, as they are overpowered by booze and the finish is slightly medicinal.

750ml capped bottle into a Side Project snifter.
Pours like motor oil. Pitch black, thick, and heavy. No head or lace. Super oily and sticky legs. Nose is grape gummy, fresh dark fruit, rum barrels, molasses, and milk chocolate. Very aromatic. Beer opens rum barrel. Fruity, coconut, marshmallow, vanilla, and chocolate. Molasses, maple, and fudge in the middle. Hints of booze and graham crackers towards the end. Very sweet but well integrated. Body is full with low carbonation. Thick and sticky on the palate and goes down warm, chewy. Sticky, lingering, filmy aftertaste.
This one's just a touch too sweet at this point. Needs a little bit of time.

Sweet chocolate malty, vanilla-coconut, and a rum and oak barrel nose on this one! Taste follows with a sweet milk chocolate, subtle coconut, and a vanilla-bourbon barrel finish. This is very good and really tasty...I just wish the additions were a little more pronounced here. I think I was looking for a little more "oomph" and pop on the nose and palate. I guess I'm hung up on it being double barrel-aged and it only being 10.5% ABV...it's a little "too light in the britches" IMO.
