From a 16oz can, undated - to be fair, there was a date sticker on the can holder but it got wet and was illegible. (IG shows 03/28/23 release date). Served in a nonic pub glass.
Pours a clear honey-gold, big bubbled, ginger ale looking glass of beer with two fingers of pouffy white foam. Retention is good, leaving thick, foamy gobs of lacing.
Nose is sharp and grainy. Aroma of wet paper, crackers and spice.
Taste is harshly grainy - an industrial level of solvent-like grainy harshness. Tasting damp mouldering blankets, paper, peppery, gingery spice and old, oxidized apple cores. Newsprint and mimeograph paper aftertaste.
Feel is medium-thin bodied with seltzer-like carbonation and a smouldering, boozy afterglow.
I cannot say that I enjoyed this very much. Clearly there was something wrong with these cans? oxidation at the very least, but I’m not sure it would have been great regardless. Sorry.
