16oz can served in a big snifter. Canned on 11/18/19. Gift from a generous BA.
Pours black, thick, small head, substantial amount of very fine, very slow active carbonation. Smell is cinnamon, chocolate, coffee, roasty/burnt stuff, definite Mexican hot chocolate vibe.
Taste is fairly sweet in the hot chocolate direction, but definitely not cloying (which is a relief, since I'm soloing this pint). Cinnamon might come across a little too strongly (I think I'm more sensitive than most to cinnamon in my beer, FWIW). Has a definite roast bitterness, a mild bitterness I might actually associate with the chilies. I might possibly get a little bit of a spiciness, but only if I think about it. I think this would benefit from a bit of spiciness.
Mouthfeel is thick, very slightly effervescent, smooth, rich and satisfying. Overall, this is a very nice beer.

Happened to be working a trade with a brewer from this brewery and when I told him I’d love to try his stuff, he sent me a few as extras in our trade. This was one and man I’m glad he did! It’s very good. Poors oil black with a good head, smells like a rich chocolate milkshake. You get all the notes in every taste but none are overpowering, it’s very balanced. You can really pick up the chilies, which I love in a stout. I definitely wouldn’t mind having a bunch of these sitting around!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
