A very balanced porter with great roasty, chocolatey, and hop flavor.

Appearance: Served up a dark brown body capped by a slightly off-white head.
Smell: Dark, roasty maltiness with a notable bitter chocolate element to it. Very light fruitiness. Fairly neutral hop component, contributing little to the aroma, but, like the ghost of grandma, you just know it’s there.
Taste: Roasted malts open with a sharp, sudden snap of bitter dark chocolate. Slight astringency. Low dark fruitiness. Herbal, floral-hinted hops play a minor role in the flavor, mostly just yielding a little bitterness. Roasty, chocolaty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: Fairly solid porter.

Aroma has firm tones of quality coffee, semi-sweet chocolate and molasses, plus subtle earthy and nutty notes. Pours a rich, opaque coffee brown with a light golden tan head. Flavor has coffee, molasses, chocolate and earthy notes. Texture, though seems rather thin for a Porter. However, that is the brew’s only weak point. Enjoy the legend.
