A traditional German Hefeweizen with great banana and clove notes. The beer was named by April Fister, as a part of our first “Name that Beer”.

A true-to-style hefe...
The beer really wasn't much to look it, not distinguishing itself from most others out of the can, but it's smell was wheaty, hinted of cloves, and had some banana in there too. Mouthfeel was very over-carbonated. I do enjoy a carbonated beer, but this was way over the top - slightly distracting to the overall experience. The taste was true to style as well, and it was just downright good. No complaints there. A solid hefe and one I will gladly look for again...

Appearance: Hazy, nearly milky pale yellow body with a thin, bone white head.
Smell: Pilsner and wheat malts are present, faintly sweetish, though not quite as dense as in some hefes. A little touch of banana puree, a snippet of lemon peel, hint of clove.
Taste: Scantly grainy pils, soft malted wheat with a generous dusting of powdered sugar. Light lemon. Minor, minor spice quality. Modest banana. Low hop character, bitterness. Clean finish with a little zip of effervescence.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: A light leaning hefeweizen. Still though, the flavors are pleasant, well-integrated, making it one of their better beers to date.

Quick Notes
A - Cloudy yellow, big white pillow and excellent lacing. Spot on.
S - Strong banana and bready wheat. Hint of clove, touch of some grassy hops. Also spot on.
T - Banana and lemon grass. Not a ton of bumblegum. Flavors are a bit more subdued next to the uber traditional examples from Germany, but it's definitely only a small step down.
M - Great carbonation, light and refreshing.
O - Another spot on true to style brew from Cherry Street.
