Very Good
Two StallTwo Stall
Notes: Formerly Chocolate Milk Stout

Two Stall, is our Chocolate Milk Stout named after our two stall garage Taproom. The subtly sweet stout is mingled with organic roasted cacao nibs. Much more drinkable than you assume. Available in 12oz bottles and on draft in the Taproom and for distribution in North Eastern Wisconsin.

(Renamed Two Stall Stout) - On-tap at Three Cellars, Franklin, WI:

Pours very dark brown to black, only a wisp of a head. Spotted lacing sticks.

The smell is of chocolate - a touch of mild, some dark bread.

The taste is of sweet cocoa, a hint of milk - enough to give a lactose balance, with just a faint touch of roast. It has a semi-sweet, rather abrupt, finish.

It is on the lighter side of the stout style, in the "English" Milk/sweet stout tradition. Not thin or watery.

This is a nice, easy-drinking, chocolate-milk-like stout!

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Great aroma of dark toasted malt, milk chocolate, malted milk balls, caramel and vanilla; really inviting. Flavor is semi-sweet dark toasted malt, milk and dark chocolate, vanilla, light caramel, nuts with a little coffee creeping into the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. The aroma of this one is off the charts, with some of the best chocolate I can remember. The taste is a little dialed back from that rich aroma, but complex and full. Nice chocolate in the taste and nicely balanced vanilla and caramel flavors. One of the better milk stouts I've had and certainly the most chocolate forward. Very well done. Impressive for the moderate ABV. Too bad this doesn't get too far from Wisconsin.

Got in a trade with GreenBayBA. 12 ounce bottled into pint glass, bottled on 5/8/2018. Pours slightly hazy nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of nuttiness, dark fruit, herbal, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, cocoa, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of nuttiness, dark fruit, herbal, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, vanilla, cream, toasted dark/brown bread, nuttiness, herbal, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, cocoa, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a solid hop/roast bitter/sweet balance, and no cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 5.5%. Overall this is an excellent milk stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, cocoa, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the minimally bitter finish. Very rich/complex malts with balanced lactose/cocoa nib flavors; restrained English yeast and mild earthy hops against sweetness. A really enjoyable offering, and perfect style example.

Pours a hazelnut brown, forming a deeper shade of dark brown. Thin ring of head, beige in color.

Aromas of french press coffee, more fresh coffee, then rich chocolate, and lactose. The coffee aroma in this is intoxicating.

Flavors are rich and roasty - fresh coffee bean, lactose, some faint cocoa, nutty brown flavors. More coffee on the finish.

Feel is medium bodied with a dryness that's again, reminiscent of coffee.

Overall, I think "Chocolate Milk Stout" in big letters on the label may be a bit misleading. This is for sure a coffee forward beer with some nice chocolate hints in the background. With that in mind, the coffee in this is powerful and fresh, it's fabulous and firm. It's just not what you'd expect.
