Poured from the tap into a pint glass. Pours deep orange with a small white head. Smells of grassy hops with just a hint of citrus. Tastes of citrus and piney hops. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

old school and good, about as simple as it gets, a fuller crystal type barley malt base, a pretty robust bittering hops, and some citrusy aromatic dry hopping, lower alcohol is nice for sessioning, it does not feel like anything is missing at all. looks like an amber type, good clarity but a much richer color than is trendy in the style right now. some sweetness to the nose for sure, that time tested caramelized thing, some cereal character, toffee, but not over the top sweet, orange zest and pine bitterness from the hops kick in, some oiliness obvious as well, meyer lemon, gin, and even like a tamarind note, pretty familiar most of the way but also with some of its own personality. its only sweet for a second in the taste, lightly nutty too, less heavy than it looks but definitely palate coating with the hop oils. love the hop profile too, a candied citrus thing first, more bitterness as it warms but never out of balance, some definite pine and spruce, juniper, and light northwestern spiciness. i like the aftertaste, the hops taste fresh but there is some oxidation to this, the ferment is cleanish, and the carbonation is fine. overall a nice balanced ipa, seems right on for winter weather. just my second beer from these guys, hope to hit the brewery next time out that way!
