This is a pretty beer. Clear dark pink color. Large light pink head that reduced quickly to a film. No lace.
Not much aroma. Sweet fruit, floral hops.
Taste of sweet fruit, some spice.
Light-bodied and easy to drink.

Thanks to Kyle for this brew, 12 oz can poured into pint glass.
A: pours a tea colored red body, +1 fine white foam head, plenty of fine bubble carbonation,
S: I'm feeling this would have had more aroma then it does with the hibiscus... you get some floral and herbal vegetable notes, hints of weak tea, slight sour fruit, melon
M: light body that has a juicy finish
T: light herbal vegetable notes, hints of sweetness, tart and prickly fruit, melon, finishing up with a light feel on the tongue
O: cool brew and will drink more

maybe the best beer i have had from diebolt, its really really good, and on tap now at kaos pizza. its a saison type, but only loosely, and is electric pink in color, almost red, i thought at first it had to be a raspberry beer or something, but its not, its hibiscus apparently that stains it this color, and its gorgeous. an aroma quite a lot less floral than it seems like it should be for what it is, instead a light belgian yeast strain and a very streamlined summery malt thing. the flavor is a lot like that too, not so intense for the color, although i really dig the flavor of the hibiscus in this, especially with this belgian saison strain. it seems almost like whenever i see hibiscus in a beer, its in a sour beer, and its cool to see it work in another context entirely. some mid palate sweetness but dry in the finish, with hints of spices from the yeast and a medium body that coats the palate well but never feels heavy. carbonation could use a little kick in the butt, but other than that, i have no real critique of this exceptional beer. its very different, and its very approachable at the same time. i cant wait for another, i crushed two pints in something like fifteen minutes, it was going down way too easy. inventive and delicious.
