The second installment in our notable people quick-sour series (Charlie Blackberry was the first). David Frambowie was soured over 5 days with Lactobacillus bacteria, primary fermented with French Saison yeast, and finally dosed with a massive amount of Raspberry puree in secondary.

Cool new brew from Diebolt. Just discovered these guys, and I'm loving everything from them so far. They call this a quick sour. That's not on the list and the closest style to this according to my taste is a fruited lambic, so I labeled it as such.
Looks sexy. Nice can art. Very light/thin body, especially considering the medium-high ABV; it moves like a diet soda or mineral water. It glows a transparent raspberry-red color with a short lived, but energetic pinkish white head that dies into nothing within seconds, leaving no lacing.
Smells fantastic: the aroma of raspberry jam and fresh raspberries alternate, while notes of lactic acid, lemon juice and fresh basil tickle the nose and bready, lightly-sweet wheat cracker lingers in the background.
Tastes almost as good as it smells. An astringent bitterness like lemon rind and basil appear mid-palate and linger for some time, but the initial impression and the finish are both almost pure fresh-raspberry. Also, without that weirdness in the middle, this brew would be super one-note.
Great light and smooth mouthfeel, I really dig this one's texture. I expected it to be a good bit heavier and to have more clingy bitterness. Crisp finish, nice balance; leaning on the drier side.
This is so refreshing, and at 6.8%, you don't have to drink at least three to catch a buzz! Cheers.
