La Saison, a dry beer with a golden robe. After spending several months in barrels of Sauvignon Blanc, the aromas of the grapes fill your nose. On the palate, the sweetness of the fruit blends with the dryness of the wood. No doubt, this is a great vintage.

Got in a trade with Shanex. 330ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 01/2020, best before June 2025. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing on the glass, and some light streaming carbonation. Aromas and flavors of big white grape/wine, red apple, pear, peppercorn, wood, herbal, floral, grass, pine, wheat, cracker, toasted bread; light banana, bubblegum, clove, yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast spiciness; and pine, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness. Medium-high carbonation, medium-plus body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready malts, sticky hops, and light tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing dryness, with no cloying/astringent flavors. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Mild increasing warmth of 6.5%, maybe a touch of barrel booze. After 6 months of Sauvignon Blanc barrel aging, it is well integrated but not overwhelming. Works perfectly well with a spot on base style example. I always love saisons.
