Pours a really cloudy yellow. White head slight lacing. Smells of a citrusy ipa. Tastes like an Ipa with a touch of brettanomyces funk. Label clearly reads 7.2 % alc./volume this is contrary to what is on page currently. 2 row malt - dextrose - simcoe, centennial, and summit hops - Saison yeast and brettanomyces

this is great stuff, newly bottled by odd13, a belgian ruby red ipa with just a font hint of wild yeast i suspect. gorgeous color on it, clear but brick red almost, maybe a bit lighter, but really red for what it is. the head is tall and lacy, and the nose is complex as anything, with a mix of belgian esters, brett funk, and saison grassy spice all from the yeasts. the grain might be just a little more prominent in the nose than i need for an ipa, but the centennial hops in all their woody glory are evident, as is a high alpha simcoe type. the hop intensity transfers to the flavor, and is intense all the way through, the yeasts are more subtle than the smell, and its an expertly done balancing act between the two, there is a whole lot happening in this one. a saison before a classic belgian i think, but i love the mix of yeast character in here. the grain takes a back seat, but is noteworthy too. coppery at first, rich and red, dry though, almost irish in nature for a minute, and a cool compliment to the woody centennial that is so robust here. better bubbles than the other odd13 beers I've had, and frankly this is downright delicious. i expect to see it around on shelves pretty soon, and recommend it highly!
