this is easily the most lackluster beer i have had from these guys. its like a little kid version of their other red beers, and has a similar but watery grain profile, as well as a resemblance of a hop complexion, just dumbed down and scaled back. i like the idea of having a sessionable beer on tap at all times, i think thats useful and important, but it shouldnt necessarily be the most boring beer on the menu. citrusy hops are there, just under dosed, and the red malt finishes a little sweet. it feels to me like fermentation was cut off a bit early. that said, it comes together pretty well, and if you havent had eric the red, its a good beer all the way through. after one of those though, it seems like an inadequate sibling, and i know these guys to be capable of much better. it also seemed a bit light on the carbonation,. not enough to make it unappealing, but enough that you want more in a session brew. overall its unremarkable, and this is the only beer from these guys where that is true. skip this one for now, they have such interesting and dynamic beer on at all times that this one wont be missed. they would do well to drop some brett and some more dry hops in this one and let it ride...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
