on tap at berkeley untapped on tennyson, this is a cool wild ale, although i was hoping it would be a little more sour with its name and all. its got a nice rust color to it, glowing in the globe and with a big white head and some cloudiness despite being bright. the nose here is more bretty funk than bacterial sour, in fact, its almost exclusively so. the malt is cool though, specialty red from what i gather, none of the high crystal weight or richness or sweetness. i was told there was mango in this, i really dont get that much at all, maybe subtle tropical notes, but i could attribute that to dry hopping too... dry in the finish and rustic feeling overall. carbonation is on point and the body is right on medium. i like its subtlety, but i also wish it was more of a shock to the palate, more acidity. still, odd13 continues to make some pretty original beers.
