An approach usually reserved for homebrewing, this smash ipa delivers. The 2 row provides a very light base to allow the simcoe to shine. I am greeted by a vibrant hope nose, that is very simcoe. I love this hop and appreciate being able to have it isolated in this beer. The taste is crisp and refreshing, but almost too so. The 6% abv is low for the style, and I think the beer would be improved with a little more malt to back it up. The mouthfeel is thin, and the flavor is all simcoe and little else. Still, I could see enjoying a few of these in the summer and it has more backbone than a session ipa. Overall I enjoyed this brew and would definitely buy again, as long as it's fresh. A definite must for fans of simcoe.
