Beautiful looking. Pretty good overall. Good stone fruit flavor though subdued aroma with mineral notes. Overall aroma could be more developed and nuanced. Finish is puckering which is not an acid bomb but enough that one of these is enough. Tasty, maybe a tad over to carbonated.

A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. This beer came gushing out of the can, resulting in a bright golden color with a 2 inch head. Smell is sour, a touch of peaches. Taste is sour, wheat, more sour, very dry, none of the fruits described on the can. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

I know that I have been on a bit of a rave lately about Tavour, but I assure you that I am not affiliated with or paid by them to do so. I created The CANQuest (tm) ~ 14 years ago to provide a leveling topic about something that we all had access to: CANned beers. My advocacy put me at the tip of the Craft CAN sword, alongside of Russ Phillips & we are generally recognized as the guide-on/flag bearers. Still, once the movement really took hold, it became impossible to keep up. I have enough beer for a LONG time, but while I still like acquiring, I have fallen away from trading. This had meant a tremendous gap, especially from the west coast, but Tavour offers me a previously-unheard of opportunity to score West Coast CANs, including ones from Alaska! Welcome to New CANned Beer Through Tavour Sunday (Week 693).
From the CAN: "Duraznodor is a pale, wheat-based kettle sour aged on huge amounts of peach and apricot puree. It is fermented with our favorite strain of wild saccharomyces."
I figured that since today was going to be sort of odd & random anyway that I would kick things off with an odd beer from Odd13 Brewing in Lafayette, CO. It CAN only happen once the vent has been Crack!ed open & in this case, I CANducted an inverted Glug to ensure maximum suspension of any lees. After all, it is a wheat beer as its base. My ungentle treatment resulted in a brief, fizzy finger of bone-white head that quickly dissipated into wisps. Color was a cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 -5 ). Nose was, well, if you CANnot smell peaches & apricots in a big way, then yer sniffer may require recalibration! Man, was this fruity! The taste, while certainly fruity, was less sour than tart. Yes, Virginia, there is a difference. Tart is puckering on the lips while Sour gets you in the hinges of yer jaw. This was a very approachable iteration of the style, perhaps because of the fruit adjuncts, but also perhaps due to its being kettle-soured. It was easy-drinking with a low-ABV & pleasant fruitiness throughout. Finish was dry and refreshing, perhaps better suited for when the humidity creeps up later in the day. For now, though, I just want to get started on what could be a marathon day.

12 oz. Can
Canned On: 04/08/18
Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice hazy pale yellow color, nice carbonation, with a nice small/quick/fizzy white head, which leaves minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, tart, with some peach/apricot. The taste is pretty nice, malty, yeasty, with a nice touch of peach/apricot, nice tartness. Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a tasty brew.

Clear golden yellow in appearance with a white head of bubbly foam. Smelled of tart lemon with some yeasty notes. Delicious sour bite with just a hint of sweetness.
