Appearance: dark ruby colored when held directly to light. The head is composed of super-fine bubbles – but not spritzy. There is a minimal amount of haze.
Aroma: very light funk and lacto-sour. There is a generic fruit presence in the nose; berries? Iniviting.
Flavor: The sourness is spot on. Sour for sure, but not enamel-melting sour. The oak comes through very light, providing only the lightest toast flavors. No alcohol flavor whatsoever. This beer is light; surprisingly so at 7.75% abv.
Mouthfeel: light-medium, light than expected @7.75% abv. You could drink several.
Overall: This is a worthwhile beer but lacks the “wow” factor. This is a middle-of-the-road fruit sour. I’d prefer one of Odd 13’s 2X IPAs to it, but I’m glad I tried it. It is certainly worth trying.
