a lightly hazy and relatively hoppy little blonde ale from these guys, on tap at park burger and a beer that seems to thrive in that food context, im not sure this would be as interesting or enjoyable without a big sloppy burger in front of me and some sweet potato fries, but nevertheless, i thought this was a fine glass of beer. a little less refined looking than i expect a blonde ale to be, but its odd13, so forget expectations. not much aroma from it, but whats there is pleasant, grass and straw, dried noble type hops, a little bitterness, and a yeast character thats distinct but hard to place, maybe a touch of sweetness too. the flavor is fine and balanced, all elements accounted for, but its the hops that really drive this one, its not over done, and its not bitter, but thats what i get the most of in such a simple beer. the grain has a sort of earthy rawness to it accompanied by a little residual sugar, it works with the hops, but seems somewhat less crisp and clean than i generally look for in the style. great carbonation is a must, and this has it, not the fastest finish but brisk enough to clean the palate after each bite of food. on its own maybe just average, but with a burger and fries, its just right.

Poured into a tulip a pretty nice hazy pale yellow color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger white head, which also leaves some minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice little citrus complex (orange, tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, pineapple). The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice little citrus complex (orange, tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, pineapple). Medium body, ABV is hidden very nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew, a nice thirst quencher. Nice take on the style. Glad to see it around here.
