A - Black pour with thin caramel lacing.
S - Chocolate char and chocolate roast with dark roasted cocoa.
T - Toasted coconut, toasted chocolate, some alcohol presence, that's it.
M - Thick and slick on the palate.
O - Sounds one dimensional, it is - sort....but it totally works in a very good way.

a really tasty beer here, but there is an ungodly amount of coconut on this, almost makes it seem like candy, forced a little bit, its natural enough i guess, but it comes at the expense of tasting a whole lot of nuance in the base beer, which me and my buddy i shared this with both kind of miss in the experience. the coconut is toasted and sweet and nutty and while it avoids a lotion or a sunscreen vibe, it definitely seems overdosed, which i rarely say about coconut, but even in a huge stout like this, it seems like more than is necessary, at least if i am going to drink a whole one. there is a nice coffee note in the dark malt, but this almost has me wishing it actually had some bitter dark coffee blended in to counterbalance some of the sweetness from the coconut, that might be a cool variation of this in the future to consider. lots of body and a creamy feel are nice, and i can tell the base stout is awesome, i just want more of it coming through all this coconut. if this was a candy bar, i would buy it. as a beer, its a little over flavored, but its bold and interesting, which is what i have come to expect from these guys every time. they had a horchata version on tap too that i wish i tried...
