2015 IPA is SoPro’s yearly IPA installment. The IPA this year features an up-front hop bite with tropical and pine flavors creeping throughout. Finishing dry and bright with a lingering sticky flavor, this IPA is not a candidate for first timers but reserved for the hop head who needs a revival from the mundane.

16 oz can. Orange with thick white head, fades to a thin layer that stays. Almost all tropical fruit in the aroma, definitely apricot. The flavor is balanced with a solid sweet malt backbone and plenty of dank piney hops. Dry earthy finish. Full soft mouthfeel. Really solid job on this IPA SPB.

An attractive pour from the can; transparent, brilliant medium amber with a dense, creamy, off-white head. The packaging primes drinkers for a "piney and dank" IPA, but the aroma is tropical fruit, apricots, peach blossom and a gentle whisper of pine. In terms of flavor, this beer is clean, smooth, and very drinkable. More fruit character, sweet pale malts, some prickly bitterness and then a degree of the promised dankness. A satisfyingly dry and medicinal finish. This is a beer with restraint and balance and another solid offering from SoPro.

With a very piney nose, juicy hop profile and a smooth finish, this IPA did not disappoint. It would be very easy to session this bad boy. Great offering for my first beer from Southern Prohibition.

SPB 2015 IPA has a thick, off-white, foamy, overflowing head, a murky, bubbly golden appearance, and very heavy lacing left behind. The aroma is of piny hop oil and sweet white bread. Taste is of those two elements, along with building bitterness, which does impart a shade of a rotten note (but, this could be a misapprehension on my part). Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and somewhat chewy, and SPB 2015 IPA finishes puckering and a tad harsh.

Nice orangish/yellow color, smell of hops, a bit malty but hops come through on the back end.
Great beer out of Mississippi and a great IPA selection in the south.

16oz can, sample from the brewery.
Towering head on this brewski, light hop haze. Smells like fruit tropical juice with hints of rind and fresh grass. Yes, it smells dank. Some bitterness from the hops though it is more of layers of flavor that engulf the tastebuds. Soft hop resin, juicy and fruity throughout. Green tea, blonde tobacco, hemp seeds, and hay in the middle. Really loving this brew, sip after sip it becomes more drinkable.

Fresh can from the brewery.
Sweet orange and tangerine flavor. Very mellow feel which i like but it lacks bitterness even a little. Still, i enjoyed it for the good beer it was but just don't expect a hop bomb.
