Oxidation ran rampant through my first can, this one definitely seems better but it’s still looking slightly tainted.. both cans filled on 11/17/17.
While this beer does typically pour a deeper hazy orange color, mine is definitely pouring a bit too murky and too brownish for it to have not been oxidized a little.
Still full of citrus notes and bitter hops, a nice balance of the two combine for a good nose on this.
Again, grapefruit and hop bitterness find their way to the pallet first, and only a slight lingering bitterness and a hint of some metallic flavors that may be all in my head . Otherwise, that is the only indicator of oxidized flavors.. no wet cardboard vibes at all.
Nice light body, effervescent carb, and a smooth finish.
Hard to tell for sure if I got this at the top of its game. Comparing pictures, I definitely see my pour being only slightly more brown than most, but as for the flavor profile it’s impossible to tell. Gathering up all the redeeming qualities, it’s a good beer. Not the best NE Hazy I’ve tried, but it’s solid.

Star Seed was released on draft and in pint can 4-packs at the SoPro Taproom in November 2017. Had this 6.60 ABV IPA at the Taproom, on draft into snifter.
Unusually slender head for a SoPro IPA, this extremely murky, triple-dry hopped IPA is (tropical) fruity, bitter, malty, dank and juicy.
