The Great Expanse was released on draft and in pint cans at the SoPro Taproom. Had poured from pint can, stamped on bottom, (canned on) “01/18/18,” into nonic pint.
Russian Imperial Stout and 7.1 ABV are phrases not often heard together. And this beer begins smooth and sweet like a milk stout. But after the roast malts and huge coffee additions (from local company Grin Coffee) kick in, this seriously dark (black) roasted coffee beer can only be called a Russian Imperial Stout.
