Typical Tuesday has a very thick, spongy, white head and a clear, straw appearance, with a few lazy bubbles and heavy lacing. The aroma is of biscuit and white bread crust. The flavor is of mild bread crust and low-level, grassy bitterness. Typical Tuesday has a medium body and a crisp finish.

Good beer. German style... maybe. It really is a good pilsner. I buy it and I drink it. At first look the color is light straw like many German Pilsners (I love German Pilsners). The taste is smooth and slightly hoppy. Good balance of malt and hops leaning toward a very clean hop. Well balanced. Easy to drink. The mouthfeel is there... it's clean. There is no lingering bitter flavor of malt sweetness. The flavor just cleanly falls off the end. Nice. Smell is where it steers the wrong way. It smells somewhat buttery/creamy and not like most German Pilsners. Overall, it gets a 4. It is a good American made German style pilsner. As I have stated and said before... I wish they'd make the Ovations (Bohemian Style Pilsner) year round... but I'd settle if SoPro made this one year round.

Light golden color with white cap and lacing.
A clean aroma of sweet malt and floral, spicy hops.
Taste of lightly caramel malt balanced by sharp, floral hops. I cannot identify these hops except to say they are bold and bright in a floral way. Simple flavors that work and finish dry. Interesting take on the Pilsner style being fuller and punchier than the usual European examples yet not brash. It comes across as simple, clean, uncluttered and unsubtle yet very enjoyable.
Medium full texture with a bit more carbonation than needed.
This brew is more Pilsner than AAL pretenders and should make a good food match.

12 fl oz pull-tab CAN from a sixer that ran me ~$10 USD in New Orleans, LA:
"American Pilsner." 4.3% ABV.
C+ / ABOVE AVERAGE
***
01/12/20: So I guess this is SoPro's Mardi Gras beer...it appears to hit New Orleans first.
Clear yellow body. Off-white head quickly dissipates (head retention is ~20 seconds).
Grassy. Pale malt sweetness is present as well. A bit minerally. That's it, really.
Smooth, wet, medium-bodied. Ought to be lighter and more crisp.
Drinkable, but not a great pilsner by any stretch - or even a good one. Lacks a true Noble hop flavour and I doubt they used multi decoction mashing.

What a massive disappointment from SoPro. Typically a very good brewer, Typical Tuesday is untypical in its dreadfulness. Only 5 weeks old, my canned Typical Tuesday was flat. A thin head that disappeared within seconds. Bland taste. Just terrible.

Typical Tuesday was released in New Orleans in advance of Mardi Gras 2019 in 12-oz. can 6-pks. and on draft, and subsequently in various Mississippi markets, and with Mardi Gras 2020 became an annual release in the Mardi Gras landmasses of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Had on Mardi Gras 2019, poured from 12-oz. can, bottom stamped (apparently) canned on “020419,” into pilsner glass. For the 2024 release, the ABV was upped from 4.30 to 5.00, and the former "American Pilsner" is now a "Fancy Pilsner." Had the 2024 release poured from 12-oz. can, bottom stamped "CANNED BY FATE" on "12/28/23," into pilsner glass.
In 2024, pours light yellow-gold with clarity, and 2-finger foamy near-white head, with excellent retention, leaving chunky lace down the glass. Aromas of sweet pilsner malt, sweet stone fruit, a little Noble hop spice and then tart stone fruit off pour, with clean herbal aromas and a little lime joining as warms. On tasting, begins smooth, unsweet pilsner malt with immediate Noble hop tart stone fruit and some herbal bitterness, which carry over a creamy malt body, into a clean, mildly bitter, slightly fruity, herbal finish.
The 2024 upgrade to Typical Tuesday is not hugely different from TT OG, but there is a little more malty smoothness, and the hops are less citrusy and more stone fruit, before a similar, drying, slightly bitter (Czech-like), classic pilsener finish. Still a highly drinkable pilsner.
