There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
Cosmic Colada -6%- Sour Ale with banana, coconut, key lime, pineapple, and lactose.
Dripping with tropical vibes, this psychedelic small batch is hitting the tap room real soon.

Cosmic Colada was a Jan. 2020 release, SoPro Taproom-only, on draft and in pint can 4-pks., with a like re-release in July 2022. Had poured from a pint can, bottom stamped (apparently) canned on "01/22/20," into a Rastal Harmony oversized red wine glass, and likewise on re-release.
Pours seriously hazy, light gold, reminiscent of pineapple juice (but I guess it's supposed to look like that), with a fizzing 1/2-finger off-white head, which immediately dissipates to a thin ring, but does leave a few specks of lace. Aroma of light pilsner malt, which gives way to sweet then sour tropical fruit aromas, then herbal dankness, and finally lots of coconut. On drinking, malt sweetness opens, covered quickly by combined carbonation and sour citrus bite, with significant coconut arriving soon after, itself then revealing the pilsner malt and lactose base, which carries lingering banana into dry, slightly-tart and citrusy finish.
Not a particularly pretty beer, but the aroma is another matter, and on drinking it presents as a pleasant pinĂ£ colada, with the expected fruits and tart citrus, supported by light malt and lactose.
