Purple Fluff, an evolution from the dessert-emulating Pink Fluff, was released in June 2020 at the SoPro Taproom on draft and in 4-pks. of pint cans, and then for draft-only limited distribution, and was re-released in Nov. 2022, Taproom-only, on draft and in pint can 4-pks. Had poured from pint can, bottom stamped (apparently) canned on "06/26/20," into oversized red wine glass.
Pours deep, murky purple, with fizzing 1- to 2-finger pink head, which slowly dissipates to a partial film, and leaves narrow rings of lace down the glass. A little aroma of cracker malt off the pour, then big aroma of black- and blueberries, and of biting pomegranate, and growing marshmallow aroma as warms. On tasting, big tartness to start but with a smooth creamy mouthfeel, then mucho (black- and blue-) berries, over a bit of cracker malt, before a moderately tart pomegranate finish.
Deep purple beer, tartly showcasing the berries and pomegranate, balanced by marshmallow and lactose, perhaps overly, as the finish could be tarter.
