Sherbet Sherpa Berries & Cream, a new version of Sherbet Sherpa (OG), was a July 2020 SoPro Taproom-only release, draft- and crowler-only, in conjunction with OG's second re-release. Had Sherbet Sherpa Berries & Cream, which is also known as a strawberry & vanilla smoothie style sour, at the taproom on draft into tulip.
Oddly, pours hazy peach-orange, despite the strawberries, with 1/2-finger-plus near-white head, which eventually dissipates to a persistent ring, leaving a not insignificant coating of lace down the glass. Big strawberry aroma off pour, soon joined by major vanilla, and finally some nice Berliner Weisse sharpness. Begins sharply fruity, then the lactose body takes over, enabling the beer to deliver the full breadth of the strawberry fruity experience, before the vanilla arrives and with the lactose carries the fruitiness into a smooth, creamy but still biting even citrusy Berliner finish.
An excellent creamy, fruited American take on the traditional Berliner Weisse mit Schuss.
