Orange Fluff, the fourth beer in SoPro's informal "Fluff Series," was a SoPro Taproom-only release in November 2020 on draft and pint can 4-pks. Had poured from pint can, bottom stamped (apparently) canned on "11/24/20," into oversized red wine glass.
Pours cloudy orange-gold, then murky from sediment (fruit?) when can emptied, with a 1- to 2-finger fizzing near-white head, which quickly dissipates to nothing, leaving no lace. Aroma of mango and cracker malt off pour, then sharp tangerine and sour Berliner Weisse bite, then more sweet mango and tangy peach. Begins with sharp tangerine and pecan, immediately softened by lactose/marshmallow, which give way to moderate Berliner tartness, itself soon cut by cracker malt and mango, which lead into a very crisp, just a bit bitter finish.
Not an especially pretty beer, but it delivers a complementary multiplicity of aromas and flavors without abandoning its Berliner Weisse base.
