Golden Spiral, a SoPro collaboration with Unseen Creatures, was a small-batch, SoPro Taproom-only release in March 2021 on draft and in pint can 4-pks. First had poured from pint can, bottom stamped (apparently) canned on "03/15/21," into pilsner glass.
Pours pale gold, with a slight green tint, with clarity and a 1-finger near-white head, which dissipates to a persistent film, leaving some sketchy lace. Aroma of sweet malt and fruity hops off the pour, with the fruit continuing and turning lemony with some hop spice showing as warms. Begins with moderate carbonation and deep pilsner malt flavor, then some hop bitterness carrying into a crisp finish.
A classic German pilsner but with a fruity addition to the traditional noble hop spice aroma, and a bit more malt than usual, balanced by more than usual dry-hopped bite.
