Clear light gold color with moderate white cap and lacing.
Taste is sweet malt and no question about it. Flavors are rich and rise above the medium texture. Hops are present from start to finish and balance with while at the same time complement the malt.
Medium texture with balancing carbonation.
At 4.8 ABV it's not a light weight but is defenitely an invitation to partake more than one.

SoPro's Festbier was a small-batch, SoPro Taproom-only, draft-only release at SoPro's 2021 Oktoberfest (SoPröst), and has been re-released each September since in draft and also in cans, in 2024 also for distribution. Had at the 2021 SoPröst on draft into Willi Becher, and also poured from crowler, filled at the taproom, into Seidel.
Pours light gold with clarity, and creamy 1-finger (on taproom draft) to foamy huge (from crowler) near-white head, with good retention, leaving sketchy lace down the glass. Aroma of sweet malt and grassy hops off pour, and mild aromas of Noble hop spice and sweet stone fruit as warms (which you won't let it much). Begins with mild carbonation, boosting the sweet malt, which carries a bit of Noble hops into a just bitter enough, nicely crisp finish.
I am (was) unfamiliar with the style, but based on the description this Festbier would seem to follow it perfectly, simply and superbly.
