Planet Tripper was released in Jan. 2023 as a new sour for year-round distribution. Had at the SoPro Taproom on 16-oz. draft into type of pokal, and later poured from 12-oz. can, bottom stamped (apparently) canned on "01/05/23" and "canned by DARBY," into Teku tulip 3.0.
Pours cloudy light-gold with 1-finger, near-white head, which quickly dissipates to nothing, leaving no lace. A bit of briny aroma off pour, then a lot of grapefruit aroma, soon sharpened up by some tart lime aroma, which continues. Begins very tart, and a bit briny, over a little cracker malt, then moderate lime over a big, unsweetened grapefruit citrusy bite, carrying into a very drying, very clean finish.
This tart, light and fruity ale has almost a Mich Ultra finish, demanding you call for another one.
