A special 8% Gose was created and laid to rest in American oak barrels that previously held Bristow Reserve Gin. After the tart and salty base married with the oak and botanical notes we pulled off 4 parts and added something different to each one.
_01- cucumber & lime
The resulting beers can barely be classified as such. Reminiscent of a cocktail or at the very least a non traditional beer offering. These libations are limited and ready to drink now though I imagine age will turn them into something special as well.

Loading _ 01 (Gin Barrel-Aged Gose Ale with Cucumber & Lime) was released in Sept. 2022 at the SoPro Taproom on draft and in 16.9-oz. bottles. Had poured from like bottle into Rastal Harmony oversized red wine glass.
Pours deep, somewhat copper-gold with 2-finger creamy near-white head, with decent retention, leaving a few specks of lace after dropping to a persistent ring. Aromas of lime and big cracker malt off pour, which continue into coconut, and, as warms, gin barrel and even more lime aromas. On tasting, begins with a little sharp gose bite, then some cucumber, all over big smooth malt, with a nice citrusy depth, which finally carry into a substantial, but mildly biting lime and sea salt finish.
Summery flavored (cucumber salad is a favorite in Mississippi) but not summery weight big, malty gin and tonic gose.
