Oatwine with Honey. We laid down a massive malty brew that pushed the limits of how much oats we use in a single beer and added a little honey to help during fermentation. This was laid down for 12 months in 7 year old soul tin series bourbon barrels. This beer has no additional additives to showcase the base products' interaction with the bourbon barrels.

Honey Munchies of Oats was released on Black Friday 2022 at the SoPro Taproom on draft and in red-waxed 16.9-oz. bottles. Had at the taproom on 12-oz. draft into type of pokal, and later poured from red-waxed 16.9-oz. bottle into snifter.

Pours apparently black, but deep ruby red with clarity when backlit, morphing to amber-red down the bottle, with 1/2-finger, very light tan head, which immediately drops to little more than a ring, leaving no lace. Aromas of sweet bourbon, caramel malt and oats off pour, then of sweet honey and orchard fruit. On tasting, begins smooth, mouth-fillingly but lighter than barleywine malty, and very fruity--tart, bright stone fruits, then big sweet but biting whiskey, over caramel malt and oats, which carry into a very fruity, moderately hop-bitter and alcohol-warming finish.

A beautiful beer from the bountiful provinces, all fruits and grains in the aroma, adding breadth to what is chef's kiss whiskey cream in the drinking.
