A special 8% Gose was created and laid to rest in American oak barrels that previously held Bristow Reserve Gin. After the tart and salty base married with the oak and botanical notes we pulled off 4 parts and added something different to each one:
_ 04- dragon fruit & pineapple
The resulting beers can barely be classified as such. Reminiscent of a cocktail or at the very least a non traditional beer offering. These libations are limited and ready to drink now though I imagine age will turn them into something special as well.

Loading _ 04 was released in Sept. 2022 at the SoPro Taproom on draft and in 16.9-oz. bottles. Had poured from like bottle into Rastal Harmony oversized red wine glass.
Pours orange-gold with clarity except for (added fruit) floaties, until bottle dumped then cloudy too, with a 1/2-finger near-white head, which soon dissipates to a persistent ring, and leaves only a few specks of lace. Aromas of malt, tropical fruit and gose bite off pour, then pineapple, and as warms growing aromas of mostly tropical fruits including banana, pear, perhaps a little strawberry, more pineapple and a little citrus, and finally some gin barrel bite and a little funk, with an overriding (tropical) floral quality. On tasting, begins malty and smooth bodied, then tropical fruits, melon and some growing, biting citrus, and a little gin oak barrel bite, before a briny, eventually somewhat alcohol-warming but smooth finish.
A quinine-fueled trip through the blooming tropical jungle.
