Wolfhound was released in March 2024 in advance of St. Patrick's Day at the SoPro Taproom on draft and in 4-pks./12-oz. cans. Had on nitro draft 16-oz. pour into type of pokal, and also poured from 12-oz. can, bottom stamped (apparently) canned on "03/01/24," into tulip pint.
On nitro, pours milk chocolate brown, finally settling to absolutely black (as it pours from can), with 1-finger (1/2-finger from can), very creamy, light-tan head, with great retention (only good from can), leaving (from can pulling) a full coating of tan Belgian lace all the way down the glass. Mild roast malt, with a little coffee, and fruit aromas off pour, joined by a little chocolate aroma and some herbal hops aromas as warms. On tasting, begins smooth, creamy, mildly fruity, and then roast malts, which keep growing into some herbal bite, and a little chocolate, before a clean, crisp, mildly coffee-bitter finish.
Straight-up, classic Irish Dry Stout, with a little fruit for fun.
