Cake Stand - Barrel Aged Tiramisu was released on Nov. 29, 2024, at the SoPro Taproom for Black Friday 2024 on draft and in white wax-capped 16.9-oz. bottles. Had poured from like bottle into snifter.
Pours absolutely black with 1/2-finger, fizzing very dark tan head, which quickly dissipates to a minimal ring and partial film, which leave no lace. Aromas of mild, sweet chocolate, bigger roast coffee and a little whiskey off pour, then classic cake walk series cake batter grain aroma, with some bright fruit aroma and a little vanilla aroma joining, and whiskey and chocolate aromas continuing, as warms. On tasting, begins big, sweet chocolate, with a little roast coffee, then some nice whiskey and hop bite, which lead over the grainy "cake batter" base into a little bright, citrusy fruit, and then the immediately alcohol-warming, long and sweet dark chocolate, and backside-bitter, Tiramisu-dessert finish.
Tiramisu grows up, via the SoPro Cake Walk adult pastry (stout) treatment.
