Medium aggressive pour resulted in crazy, overflowing head. Excellent density and retention, with decent lacing. Dark brown / black. Aroma is chocolate & roast. Not sure if there is lactose in this beer, but it smells like it. Taste has some roasty notes, but it's fairly bland overall. Feel is way too carbonated and thin. Not at all what I expected.

I really wanted to like this but either something went wrong during the canning process or their target audience is a very different type of beer drinker.
Very light in both color and feel, excessive carbonation and more root beer taste than stout. The aroma was good though!

I got a 4 pack of as a gift. There must have been something wrong with the batch I got. The carbonation was so extreme it was barely drinkable. When poured, the head would foam up 3 inches very dense with fine lacing and would not recede for at least an hour, so you can't exactly empty a can all at once, you gradually had to pour little by little as you drank after letting the carbonation recede, which by that time it would be room temperature. Also, when you pealed away the plastic labeling on the can it revealed a different label of a reused can from the brewing company. Beach Cruiser. Interesting... It does have a delectable smell and decent taste, all else aside. I won't bash it, I just wouldn't try it again unless it was on tap.

Very nice imperial stout - no date on can. Pours a thick black opaque color with just a little tan film of head and some nice rings of lingering lacing. Nice aromas of medium coffee, fudge dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel, malt, nuts, bread and brown sugar. Taste follows the nose, very nice chocolate and roasty flavors and was well balanced and complex with good depth. Smooth, luscious, sticky mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. A very enjoyable beer.

It's like getting married for the first time - awesome at first but as it goes on, it gets old and you start to think about other beers. Great flavor, but the body gets heavy over time and you're glad you're done with it.

I am trying to clear my palate for this - a bunch of tasty food is dominating it. The stout itself is pretty powerful and seems to be doing the clearing without a lot of help.

It pours beautifully with tons of head and lacing. The aroma is mostly clean, sweet and cholatey. The taste is similarly very cholatey, but not really all that creamy. There are bitters that seem to come from hops and chocolate, which is very pleasant. It's a nice balance and very drinkable. The alcohol is well hidden by the flavors.

Recommended.

Swollen, tight feeling can, with the bottom bulging out... this ones gonna be a gusher. Opened in my utility sink and sure enough, a massive spray of foam. All foam in the glass. Gave this one about 15 minutes of sitting and it finally settled out nicely. Bit on the carbonated side for a stout, but as I let it warm, and swirled the carbonation out of it, this beer is very tasty. Bittersweet bakers chocolate dominates, with the spiciness of the rye on the back end. Some ash, tobacco flavors as well. A nice brew in the end, but the gushing was a let down.
