Nice rich flavor for 5.5%. Richness is not really a strong molasses flavor, but more like a nut brown.

Enjoyed from the can in a snifter. This FINE brown pours a clear reddish brown with a very nice off white head of foam that settles to a thick ring and thin layer with fantastic lacing. Nose of light coffee, light dark chocolate, subtle hops, and deeply roasted malts mingling with a touch of fruit. Flavors surpass the nose with brown sugars, raisins, cold pressed coffee, and sweet dark chocolate on all sides. Subtle hops mingle on the back but fade under a substantial weight of roasty malted goodness. Finish is slick and coating----medium body. Good carbonation rounds out the package. An EXCELLENT example of a rather neglected style, and a great collaboration brew.

Cheers

I picked up a can of Latitude 42's 10 Degrees Of Separation last week for $1.69 at The Lager Mill. I had this at a recent beer festival, but I thought I revisit it, so lets see how it goes. 2015 Vintage. Poured from a 12oz can into a imperial pint glass.

A- The can looks ok, it's god a nice design to it and it's just a little eye catching. It poured a fairly clear brown amber color that took on more of an amber color when held to the light with almost three fingers worth of fluffy light tan head that died down to a thick ring that stayed till the end and it didn't leave any lacing behind. This is nice looking beer, but I wish it had some lacing.

S- The aroma starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the malts being the first to show up with some caramel malt, light toasted malts and sweet malts aromas coming through with just a little bit of a bready aroma. Up next comes fruity yeast and it goes into just a slight nutty aroma that's followed by some noticeable metallic aromas. This beer has a decent aroma, but I could go without the metallic aspects.

T_ The taste seems to be similar to aroma and it starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the malts stil being the first to show up and it imparts the same malty aspects that they did int eh aroma with toasted malts seeming to stick out the most. Up next comes some fruity yeast aspects that go straight into a noticeable metallic flavor that lingers into the finish along with a higher amount of low bitterness and it malty aftertaste. This is a decent tasting beer, but the metallic flavors held it back.

M- Smooth, pretty crisp, on the lighter side of medium bodied with a higher amount of medium carbonation and it was a little prickly. The mouthfeel is nice, but i wish it wasn't a little prickly.

Overall I thought this beer was decent and it was pretty close to being average for a Brown Ale, it had a good amount of aspects that I look for in the style, but it also had a few off aspects that held this beer back. This beer didn't have the best drinkability, one is enough for me, I have no urge to drink another one. What I like the most about this beer was the appearance and mouthfeel, those were the highlights of this beer. What I like the least about this beer is the metallic aspects, it would be much better without it. I wouldn't buy this beer again and I can't say I would recommend it. All in all I wasn't too impressed with this beer and I still think Coronado's version is better. It's not a favorite beer from this brewery and it average at best for the style. Better luck next time guys, this one could use some work.

12oz. Can from Copper Vine (Father's Day present) $1.79 dated 05/08/15. Poured into a nonic pint.

A- It pours a 1-finger tan head atop a clean copper-brown body with light carbonation. Head drops to light foamy edges. Little stick left on the glass.

S- Really bold and pleasant. Lots of candied nuttiness. Hints of maple syrup and caramel.

T- Much as the aroma suggests. Sweet flavors of caramel and lighter maple syrup. A slight nutty flavor. Hops are lighter still, but clean up the finish nicely, especially given the sweeter aspects.

M- Medium-light body. Dry finish. Carbonation is light, almost too much so making for a bit of a thin feel overall. Bold aroma and flavor had me expecting an equally rich mouthfeel that didn't quite deliver.

O- A really solid brown ale where it counts (flavor/aroma). Maybe lacking a bit in peripheral attributes (mouthfeel, lacing, etc). I'd buy it again. Definitely an easy drinker.

I have to say I appreciate a well made brown ale. They seem to be infrequent, but when I find one I enjoy it's a good time.

This one is fairly meaty. Thick brown ale character. Seemed a bit thin at first and then thickened up as it warmed. A fairly thick brown ale. I like it.
