16 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 4/5/2018. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and pepper; with light notes of honey, lemon, pear, apple, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and pepper; with light notes of honey, lemon, pear, apple, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a delicious Kolsch! All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestely bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful for the ABV. A tad on the hoppy side for the style, but I was a big fan. Clean pale malts, balanced earthy hops, and well restrained yeast character. A very enjoyable offering. Pretty spot on and impressive for the style expectations.
