A decent enough pils...
Great looking pils with the frothy looking head, but the smell was surprisingly weird. It wasn't necessarily bad but it was not appealing at all. Mouthfeel was astringent and the taste was middle-of-the-ground. Again, a decent enough pils but one I won't be on the eye out for moving forward...

A: Mostly clear pale dark yellow color with a large pillowy white head.
S: Lemon, grainy malt, and some curiously wild funk.
T: Mostly just unpleasant funkiness. Not sure what happened here.
F: Medium-light body; good carbonation.

From the bottom of the can: PK120622
Appearance: The body of the beer is a pale beige color but it has a bit of a darker hue to it. There is a slight haze. It has a very short white cap which doesn't last long and it leaves no lacing.
Aroma: There is a very faint cereal grain aroma but it is barely there.
Taste: There is a light bit of cereal grain flavor up front. The middle has a bit of a fruity berry flavor with a touch of a vine-like quality. Bitter and overcooked herb flavor near the back of the mouth.
Mouthfeel: It feels light bodied and soft on the palate. Hop bitterness is on the high side and it contrasts with the unusually soft body.
Overall: The label on the can states that this is a "GERMAN STYLE PILSNER." The beer really doesn't stand out as a German Style Pilsner and as a whole it is a sub-average attempt. I wouldn't buy it again and I would recommend passing on it.

I'd had this a year or so ago and it was good. Bought a 4-pack now and it is different. Flavors of weird yeasty Belgian beer are present that I do not recall and I have to say I don't like. As if they brewed this where they made a Belgian ale and never cleaned out the tanks. Off flavors that do not belong in a Pils, unless it is "Belgian inspired" in which case I would not buy it. Maybe a bad batch, but a ruined pilsner with the unwelcome Belgian floral taste. I can get Belgian beer if I want it, but I do not want it in a "German pils." This tastes like lager with a few drops of Delirium Tremens added. Not a drain pour but not very good on this production run for sure.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy (25% clarity), light pale yellow color with a strong, bright white head that bubbles. SRM of 6-7. (4.25)
Aroma: Relatively strong aromas of lemon citrus, citrus peel, and bright flower. Citrus, zesty, bright with some faint pale malts.
Flavor: Relatively strong flavors of lemon citrus upfront. There's lemon citrus, lemon peel, lemonflower, with a dry yeast in the middle. Almost a lemon and juicy fruit type of flavor here. Faint Belgian spices among the yeast. Citrus, lemon, and nice citrus spice. The yeast has lemon, juicy fruit, and even some faint Belgian spices. A smooth pale malt finish, but finishes dry.
Feel: Medium-bodied. Strong carbonation. A dry and yeasty finish on the palate.
Compared to Paulaner Pils 4/21/22: Pours a hazier color. Stronger aromas. More lemon citrus, peel, and flower. Less toasted pale bread malts.
Compared to Fair State Pils 4/2023: Pours duskier, smaller head. Similar aromas. More lemonflower citrus. Similar pale malts. Slightly less bitter. Very similar overall, but not quite as bitter.
Compared to Humble Forager Pin Seeker Pils 4/2023: Pours darker and duskier, milder head. Milder aromas. More tea and yeast. Less bitter flower, citrus zest. Smoother and less bitter.
Compared to Old Nation Rubikon 5/2023: Pours lighter, milder aromas. More yeast. Less lemon and bread. More tart and spoiled
Overall: A quite hoppy German pilsner. Lots of lemon citrus and peel. Some bright flower and even some Belgian spices, but only subtly so. Excellent carbonation for a dry finish. Sure there's an American twist with the hoppy lemon flavors, maybe some Belgian with the yeast. Not much bitterness. A complex beer that drinks fantastic and authentic to style. (Rating: 3.95)
Second try on this one was spoiled and a drain pour.
Third try was far better and and a great authentic German Pils
Another try had faded and started to spoil. Good when fresh, but can really drop off quickly.

I liked this one. It had a nice clean feel to it and some crispness. There wasn't really a lot of bitterness, in fact it probably could use a touch more bitterness to offset the sweetness. There was a nice bit of citrus and lemon to it also.

Slightly hazy golden color, with a fluffy white head.
Big aromas and flavors of bell pepper flesh, white pepper, hay, cracked grains, and slightly honeydew melon. Moderate lingering bitterness.
Fantastic pils.
