A malty sweet ale, with a nutty, toffee flavored finish.

Served in a 16oz pint, the beer is brown with a red tint. It has a beige head with some lace.

Aroma of brown sugar, slight roasted malts and something that reminds me of over cooked green beans.

Unfortunately the bean thing is back in the taste. I like the slightly toasted malts and the bit of sweet nuttiness but the after taste is off and kills the beer. I'm guessing it is infected, old or the tap lines need to be cleaned. Any of these is unacceptable for a brewpub.
The mouth is average with a nice bit off thickness that is negated by over active carbonation

Had on tap in a 16oz standard pint glass.

Appearance: Deep brown color with a good creamy head

Aroma: Nuts, chocolate and vanilla.

Mouthfeel: Smooth with good even finish

Nice malty flavor with a slight hop finish, decent balance.

Drinkability: Goes down pretty well, good for fall, winter and spring. Not a summer beer meant for pounding down.

Ordered a growler to enjoy back at my hotel room.

Recommened!

This beer was a pleasure to drink, but I kept asking myself if it was supposed to taste as it did. The aroma had light notes of vanilla and the taste was somewhere between eggnog and cream soda. Everything about this beer was skillfully delivered, but its more exotic properties kept me guessing. It is light bodied but very deep chestnut color.

My companion and I both enjoyed this beer, but if I could define it in one word, that word would be “perplexing.” You decide.
