Finally getting around to some of my back-logged reviews in my spreadsheet. Got to this one, saw it wasn't listed yet, so here it is. This review is for the 2010 version, and is from notes taken at the brewpub. On-tap into a 16 oz. pint glass.
Pours a hazy burnt orange (almost brown) color with a bit of white head that dissipates all too quickly; a slight amount of lacing is left behind. Smells of barley, oats, and some faint spices. There is also a bit of a funky, musty scent faintly coming through in the rear. Tastes are a bit lacking, with very few flavors coming through beyond the barley and spice. Notably, there is something remniscent of a rye flavor rounding it out in the end. Mouthfeel is very thin, nothing exciting. I won't be ordering much more, as they have better offerings, but it is a nice refresher from their standard fare and certainly helps put you in the oktoberfest mood.
I'll certainly revisit the 2011 vintage if/when it comes around.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
