Pace yourself with this tropical light ale, with hints of passionfruit and citrus. This refreshing Pale Ale, with a medium bodied taste, is a full-flavoured beer.

We should call this an APA since the brewer does. This tastes slightly more flavorful than a low alcohol lager. But, it is OK to experiment with ales

Drunk fresh from a guest tap at Ballistic Beer in Springfield, Queensland, in June 2024
L: Dark golden, pushing towards Amber. A thin, bright-white head sits atop an utterly dark beer, with no visible carbonation. It was a gusher while being poured from the tap, and that might have sucked the carbonated life out of it.
S: The nose is made of tropical fruit, peaches, and papaya. Good signs for a light beer!
T: This is outstanding for a beer clocking in at 2.8% ABV. The peach and papaya note from the nose is evident, but so is a silky tobacco-like note that adds a back-end harsh bitterness to the beer that sits well with the tropical notes that go before it.
M: As with the taste, this is exceptional for such a low-ABV beer. It's full and finishes thick and juicy. Excellent work here.
O: I'm struggling to think of a better beer I've had below 3.5%. Australia brews a lot of excellent 3.5% beers as a peculiar anomaly of our tax and drink-driving laws, but it's rare to see something sitting at this ABV and even rarer for it to be such a good beer.
Cheers!

As far as light beers go.... this'd be my pick. Decent APA with that tinny/watery light bee taste.
