Another recommended drink from the craft shop beer manager. Poured cool to a Glencairn. Color is a ruby chestnut, no real head. Nose is slightly floral with a slight hint of caramel in the distance. First sips are difficult to tell if it’s more American or English style: the flavor has hints of caramel and hints of hops, a body that starts toward an American but mellows like English. The barrel flavors are very prevalent, a sort of musty wine vibe. The alcohol has a little bite and fair warming. Mouthfeel is full but crisp. It’s good, albeit more vinous that I’d care to select again.
