First of all, I want to wish Matt, the brewermaster, the best of luck in his new position at Upland. Draft. This beer formed a small sized tan head that was creamy and smooth and contained fine sized bubbles that were most lasting. This beer was opaque with no carbonation and a reddish-brown hue. This beer had a malty nose and a caramel, malty and spicy flavor. The mouthfeel was smooth and this beer had good lacing to it. This beer was served too cold which made it somewhat difficult for me to detect what the nose was completely comprised of. This is a very good Dopplebock and one that I truly enjoyed and recommend.
