This was a nice pils from an interesting family. Their main business is winemaking, but five generations ago the family patriarch was a brewer. Nice to revive that family tradition after a generational hiatus. If the beer garden shares the same kitchen as the winery's restaurant, I bet this would be a good place to eat. Good Overall Hugs for all this.
Pike's produces a nice pilsener, particularly if you are a malt-head like me. While its foam fades fast, this pils has a clear blond bod. Smells are mostly malt. Tastes are well-balanced, hops enter slowly and finish stronger; but only linger and don't dominate as many an inexperienced micro makes. Refreshing on a hot day. Light to medium-mouthed. Fine with my panini at lunch.
