Deep ruby brown color. Light passes easily through the center of the glass. Modest head which leaves a minimum level of spotty lace.
Lots of caramel sweetness. No notable hop.
This seems to be closer to an aled Double Bock in flavor. Very rich with decent carbonation. The taste has toffee and caramel as the predominant features. The swallow draws out a lot of the alcohol warmth. There's a minimum of hop spice to the taste. Overall, this is a boozy, low hopped DIPA--not what one would expect. Still, it's a fine beer.
