Small but lasting beige head. Foamy coating throughout the tasting. Thicker streaks on the glass. The liquid is brown but not dark enough to keep light from passing easily through the center of glass.
More Baker's chocolate than coffee to the nose. Clean aroma with a touch of straw.
The taste is closer to semisweet chocolate. Rich body with a fine level of carbonation. There's a light coffee way in the background. The swallow is more bitter showing the presence of nondescript hops. Overall, this is a better than average Porter even though there's nothing which distinguishes it from others.

Pint on draft at Bayside Bowl.
Appearance: Looks like a porter. Dark, clear brown with a one finger eggshell head.
Aroma: Slightly smoky chocolate with some dark fruit and dark malts.
Taste: Follows nose. Classic porter. That smoky note is there. Little bit of coffee that is less present in nose.
Mouthfeel: Smooth and inviting. Almost iced-coffee-like. What you'd expect from a porter.
Overall: Classic porter. Hits all the notes. Perfect beer for a cool late fall day.

Almost smoky flavor. None of the velvety mouthfeel or richness I usually prefer in porters, but totally serviceable, particularly if you don't want anything that's too sweet.
