Clear copper colored pour with a minimal head. Aroma of figs and candy sugar. Taste follows the nose with fig and candy sugar flavors, but can also taste caramel and bread flavors.

Had Holy Candy poured from 22-oz. bomber, gift from friend, into goblet. Part of Wiseacre's Belgique d’Epoque series, Holy Candy has rather low ABV for a Dubbel, a mild malt backbone and fades a bit in the finish.

Pours an effervescent orange-hued brown with a pinky of tan head, Stellar lacing above average head retention

S: Faint breadyness, figgyness

T: Follows the nose some rubberband, plus a little dryness. plus a little herbal & woody hops up front. Herbal & woody hops mixes with green apple & faint raisin notes as this warms. Finishes with a little fig, raisin, woodiness & just a little candi sugar, a little rubberband

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation that picks up as it warms

A pretty good shot at the style, not quite there, but would recommend this to a person checking out the style, if they they couldn't access the standard Belgians that define the style

22 oz bottle.
A nice, well-balanced dubbel with a seemingly rather minimal impact from the figs although there is a load of dark fruit flavor here.

O: recommended

Undated bottle at 45 degrees into tulip
Aroma very weak, fruity
Head small (1 cm, aggressive pour), light brown, fizzy, rapidly diminishing to 2 mm ring and broken layer
Lacing none
Body dark amber, slight haze
Flavor sweet and a little figgy; no hops, no malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate medium to full, syrupy, soft carbonation

Appearance 3, Aroma 3, Flavor 3, Palate 2.75, Overall 3. This is not an unpleasant brew, it just has nothing to make me want to buy it over anything else. It’s sweet and syrupy and lacks any yeast phenolics.
