Clear pale gold with a short fuzzy white head.
Its first expression is the relatively sweet helles base, almost like lemondrops, with a white wheat and touch of grape. All this comes shockingly first before a fine influence of mild smoke imparts a slight hickory character that's plenty tolerable.
The smoothly slick medium body has a fluffy carbonation that leads into a dry finish.
Normally you get American rauch that's a bit too potent, but here, it may actually be a bit too tepid. At the same time, I'm sure that does wonders for sales.

Acquired from the #source at Wiseacre Brewery in Memphis, TN. Drank out of a Transient Artisan Ales tulip glass.
Look: Poured with two and a half fingers of bone white head, yellow-orange color, solid ring lacing, light slow moving up-down bubbles.
Smell: Smoked malt, rotisserie sausage, wet tobacco, leather.
Taste: The smoke is nice and complex, smoked meat, a bit of cracker malt.
Feel: Light side of medium mouthfeel, refreshing finish.

Pours in a filtered golden yellow. On the nose some smoke, hay, lemongrass. Taste is more pronounced than the aroma, a mix of a rauchbier and a lager so you get that namesake smoke but a lot of lager characteristics like a nice crispness with bready malts and English digestive biscuits. Nice lager this.
